The J.D. Power 2016 Initial Quality Study analyzes the cars with most potential for the model year. And again, for the fourth year in a row, Chevrolet’s cars are leading their segments in the J.D. Power Study.

J.D. Power has two studies each year, the Vehicle Dependability Study, and the Initial Quality Study. The initial study measures the power and potential of each car on the market. And Chevrolet has five cars leading their segments.

“The study results will help attract new buyers to Chevrolet, as J.D. Power data shows ‘expected reliability’ is customers’ top purchase consideration for a new vehicle,” said Alan Batey, Global Chevrolet president.

J.D. Power Study - Chevrolet Silverado 1500So what are the cars that will attract these new buyers? The Chevrolet Silverado received top marks for light-duty and heavy-duty trucks.

The Chevrolet Equinox led the compact SUV segment, while the Chevrolet Tahoe led the large SUV segment.

The best win was the Chevrolet Spark, who led its category by an impressive 48 points.

These winners aren’t determined by industry professionals, but rather, average customers. Results were based on responses from over 80,000 purchasers about the quality of the car.
