Winter is right around the corner and as the temperature dips, so will your vehicle’s performance. Taking the proper steps to ensure that your vehicle runs all winter long is easier and cheaper than it may seem. Here are some helpful tips to prepare your car for winter from us here at Diamond Auto Group! Stay warm!
- Tires – Before you hit the road this winter, make sure your tires have enough tread to provide optimal traction. Worn tires can be a major safety hazard for everyone on the road as they don’t provide enough traction to properly grip the surface. Drivers with worn tires are more susceptible to sliding, fishtailing, and ending up in a snowbank. Don’t get caught in the cold this winter. Replace your tires if needed.
- Lights – Visibility is key to driving, as you likely already know. That’s why it’s important to take the time to clean your lenses and replace any burnt out bulbs. Your lights provide you with increased visibility, but they also allow other drivers to see you as well. Avoid accidents by making sure your lights work properly.
- Supplies – Pack a supply kit with extra clothes, blankets, a flashlight and batteries, and other necessary items. Doing so ensures you can wait for roadside assistance if your vehicle does break down this winter.
